It's a whole other geography!
Giro Mondo is definitely a game for those who love to travel and for those who have a passion for geography, but it is a game that first of all aims to raise awareness about the knowledge and respect of cultures other than our own.
In fact, in the game everyone is a traveler who aims to get to know the other places in the world and, above all, to meet new Friends."br/> In the metaphor of the game you have to discover the true values related to travel: friendship with the people of the place, respect and curiosity towards the different culture, the sharing of travel traits... and so to have a new Friend you have to go to a place for the first time (in one of the12 Areas of the game) and then be able to return...
then yes you will have a new Friend!"br/> ... and then, of course, you can only reciprocate his hospitality and invite him to your home!""br/> In fact, the winner of the game is the first to have three Friends, from three different continents, and return to their home with all of them!
One thing we really like about this game is that Friends are represented by wooden pawns, the color of the continent from which they come, and that when in the course of the game "conquer" a new friend you have to add it to your round-world: a wooden base , round in shape, which can accommodate the different Friend pieces that, when placed on the "round-world base", touch as if they were holding hands.
All clear, of course, but... how do you travel?
Here in the game is the big news: to travel you do not have to answer questions, nor use dice or revolving arrows: they will be the same places in the world, represented by THE STATUS cards, which will turn into travel cards if you prove you know these Destinations. The game has an almost infinite variability, because you will have to face tests at each different turn, such as "ORDINA these states by size", or "INDOVINA in which of these states you are in if you are eating the Injera".
When you passed the test, if, for example, the cards you used to deal with were the State ofSpain, New Zealand, Ecuador and Turkey, you can travel to the corresponding Geographical Areas, namely Western Europe, Oceania, South America and the Middle East.
We bet you're already packing your bags to kick off your World Tour?!?
